Depressed? Check your vitamin D.

DB here! I have been observing many young ladies who have had their second child with an issue of depression. I can tell you a common problem is a low thyroid. I had one young woman today who is thirty. She just had her second baby. Her body has not responded to the change. Her TSH, T3 and T4 levels were very low; she is exhausted. I looked over her diet; she had wheat nearly with every meal. Wheat depletes the body by zinc. When you have low zinc, there is usually high copper. High copper interrupts with the conversion of T4 to T3. What she had that was really severe was low vitamin D. Her vitamin D was 19, low is 30. She was depressed, not always but much of the time. I have been seeing more with depression and heart issues. I can tell you that if you are depressed, I would have your thyroid and Vitamin D tested.  Eat egg yolks with your eggs. Vitamin D is in the yolk. I would also take flax oil, one tablespoon per one hundred pounds of weight. I also recommended a product from our office called Tyrosine. When T4 and T3 are low, the patient nearly always requires iodine and tyrosine. My best to you!! DB

Dr. Bob DeMaria’s Blog Nugget to get you on the road to Younger looking skin; GUARANTEED!!

DB here!! Aren’t you glad you are learning about looking younger? It will take up to three consistent months to see changes. OK, yesterday I mentioned collagen. Collagen is the glue that holds cells together. Your body would do much better if it had the ingredients to create baby face smooth skin. I would suggest you eat, are you ready; one high Omega 3 organic egg everyday, or at least five times a week. Do you know that eggs, onion and garlic are great sources of sulfur? Sulfur is needed to make strong collagen tissue, along with vitamin C. Do you know that honey is a great source of proline, which is an amino acid that is used to make collagen? I am not suggesting you use honey, but I know there are many honey products being marketed right now.  Some are very good.  I also see patients with a lot of sugar issues that are precipitated by honey. That was just an FYI…. I personally take one ounce of a bovine sourced liquid protein product every day. If you want to learn more, send me a note at druglesscare@aol.com, and I will tell you what it is, and ship it to you if you would like. We do not have it on our web page yet. I believe this product stopped the gray from coming out on the top of my head, and it has stopped my hair from falling out. I am serious. If you had your tonsils removed you lost one of your store houses of sulfur.  Sulfur as I mentioned can be consumed easily…..

I just received a few emails about Iodine, I wanted to put the response for you to read.  Iodine is very important, and because of it’s role with calcium may be a part of the whole Vitamin D issue.  I am searching more information to learn about Vitamin D. Read this email response from me to someone,    I wrote, “From what I am seeing in my practice, and knowing that bromine, fluorine and chlorine are at toxic levels, I can confidently say you should think about it (Iodine).  I rarely see patients who have normal thyroid values and have had not assessed one person with a urine iodine level that was within thirty percent of normal. This is just as serious as Vitamin D and I believe because of the calcium connection this can be connected physiologically.”  DB

Eggs, NOT EGG NOG!

DB here!! Well it is the day before Christmas Eve and most are scurrying around trying to get some last minute food items and gifts I am sure. Traditionally we make a huge batch of scrambled eggs on Christmas morning. Eggs are a great source of sulfur and protein. The egg yolk has lecithin in it which emulsifies the fat and cholesterol, much like dishwashing detergent. We also fry up some chicken sausage. I would suggest organic chicken sausage. I would much rather you have eggs and sausage then pastries and doughnuts. I fondly call doughnuts, “torpedoes” of death. You can also poach eggs. They are really easy to do, drop a dash of vinegar in the water and plop the egg in, let in cook a minute or so. You will know when it is ready. I would not drink eggnog. You are drinking instant calories, 250 per cup. OK one last nugget. I am making Turkey for Christmas Eve; I will sauté onions and celery today for the stuffing I will mix together tomorrow morning. I boil the neck in reverse osmosis water, and use the water from the boiling to add to the stuffing. I am going to add some raisins tomorrow just for the heck of it, maybe grind a few walnuts. Did you get your chestnuts? I will be cooking up some of those also. Check out the video. One last thing, Debbie just did four videos on cooking. Click HERE to check them out. We have rice oil, which we can send to you. It is light and tastes great. Try something different to eat this Christmas time. How about some kale, cut it up, dash some olive oil in, and throw it into a frying pan that you all ready have onions and mushrooms sautéing. Let me know what you try. Sweet potatoes are also…..very tasty. DB
