Your Skin is Your Body’s Cancer Chance Report Card…

DB here! I would be concerned if I had a history of acne or any skin lesion. Your skin is the report card for how efficient and effective your body is processing all the toxins it is exposed to. Do you have a strategy to clean your body from the inside out? Do you think wearing a pink ribbon on your lapel is going to keep cancer from ruthlessly attacking your body? Has the American Cancer Society given you a logical plan to follow to prevent cancer? Do you think early detection is working? It surely isn’t preventing the problem.

Do you eat conventional meat? Do you drink tap water? Are your breasts tender with your menses? Do you have a heavy menses? Do you eat sugar? Do you want to learn more about preventing CANCER without medications? Many women are choosing to have healthy breasts removed because your mom had cancer!  Do you have a PLAN?

Join me May 30th for an in-depth workshop on Cancer PREVENTION.  Loated near Cleveland OHIO. Fly to CLE, stay at the one of two dozen hotels. Spend the weekend at Cedar Point or one of the Lake Erie Islands. Go to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame or one of the Several Museums while you’re here.  Go to the West Side Market in the afternoon. Make a day of it. Go to www.druglessdoctor.com for more details. We only have room for 40 attendees total and slots are filling up fast!  See you there! DB

Household Cleaners Coming Clean…

DB here! I was reading the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) and learned a few nuggets I wanted to pass on. (The WSJ is loaded with information that is very useful.) The whole economy is fueled by research and development of products. What is very interesting about today’s world is the fact the public is very astute, and manufacturers need to listen to the consumer because the manufacturers know they can take a huge hit in a matter of days caused by chatter on the internet and lose creditability.

The title of the article I read was “Household Products Come Clean”, what’s going on out there is the world of cleaning is high potency; lethal chemicals that can create harm and alter body physiology. I won’t make this a chemistry lesson, I will give you two chemicals to look for, and then send me a note if you find them in your products.

  • Monoethanolamine, this is found in detergents and all purpose cleaners. It is used in various products such as Mr. Clean Multi-Surface Antibacterial Cleaner made by Procter and Gamble, and Clorox’s Formula 409 All Purpose Cleaner. Studied have linked this chemical to occupational asthma. The article goes on to say the manufacturers say it is safe…yadda…yadda…yadda…. The real challenge is if you have a child with asthma.
  • Glycol ethers which have been linked to low fertility rates and low weight birth rates in laboratory animals.

I suggest you go to the American Cancer Society’s web site and look at environmental toxins. I encourage you to become more pro-active, and be AWARE of what you are using in your house especially if you have small children or you notice people have “runny noses” and just don’t feel good when you change a product.  I would suggest you may want to forward this blog on.

Don’t just ‘Show Me the Beef’, Tell Me What’s IN the Beef!

Should it be WHATS IN THE BEEF versus SHOW me the BEEF?

DB here! I just read an interesting article in the Wall Street Journal. There was a story on an imported cheese store in NYC that was concerned that the price of cheese from Europe was going to be more expensive because of a new tariff placed on the importing of cheese from the European Union. Do you want to know why? The US is/was retaliating against Europe’s refusal to import American Beef. Conventional American Beef is loaded with hormones and the Europeans do not want it. Guess who is eating eat? We are, let me qualify that; the uniformed public is; I do not eat it, I eat organic.

Do you get warm or hot in the evening after meals that have meat as a part of the dinner? If you do, and it is not uncommon it could be the chemicals in your steak or roast beef dinner. If you have tender breasts, a heavy menstrual flow, or if you are a male, and you have swelling in your prostate impairing urine flow – I would make the educated decision to go organic. The chemicals in the products you may be eating can cause an abundance of xenohormones. Organic animal tissue is the only way to go. Also, I would avoid FARM RAISED FISH. Yes you read that right. They use chemicals in fish food to color the flesh and anti-biotics to prevent the fish from getting infections. OK, so what do you do? Stop eating conventional meat, I would minimize going out to eat, where they use processed, tainted meat products. Eat at home, buy the right stuff. DB

ENERGY Energy energy… How low sodium diets can deplete your vigor

Hello this is Dr. Bob with a Tip for You!!

Last night on the Tele Workshop call I discussed energy.  I have been talking about it for a week or so now on the tips.  I have so many patients that come into the office exhausted.

I have discovered that one of the many reasons people do not have enough energy is because they are on a low salt diet. You will want to watch  for a video posted on Celtic Sea Salt on Thursday, at www.druglessdoctor.com.

To make matters more complicated they are using refined salt, loaded with chemicals.  I encourage our patients to use a unrefined product, we generally suggest Celtic Sea Salt.  You can use up to one fourth teaspoon of Celtic Sea Salt with every quart of water you drink.  By the way it is helpful for digestive distress. You can still sprinkle some Celtic Sea Salt on your food.

I know many of you reading this are tired; I would avoid zinc depleting foods like grains and soy.  Wheat can be an issue for some of you.

One of the tests that we do in the office is the Adrenal Stress Index, (ASI).  This test will show use if you are sensitive to wheat and gluten which can be an energy zapper.  Ladies, any type of hormone replacement therapy can be an issue, by increasing copper and depleting zinc.

Do you wear sunglasses?  If you do, it may be a sign that your adrenals are exhausted.  The adrenal glands and thyroid are critical for optimal energy.

And finally, is your liver up to par?  Your liver is the main organ that helps your body create fuel, and also eliminates the extra estrogen that is common in people with low energy from high copper.  The copper depletes zinc, which is needed to make insulin.  You may want to think about getting the Detoxification book.

By the way, we have four books available that you can have emailed to you, which saves shipping.

You can read the book right on your computer.  What a great way to learn and have the information at your finger tips.   Enjoy all the nuggets and new videos and Blog nuggets on my web page at www.druglessdoctor.com.

One last point, I have a video that you will want to watch on High Fructose Corn Syrup, you will really be shocked by the information, especially the nuggets on fatty liver.

Is your morning routine causing cancer?

DB here! Shop Smart- be a label reader. 1, 4-Dioxane is a cancer-causing contaminant found in many ingredients commonly used in cosmetics and personal care products. It may not be listed on the label because manufacturers are not required to disclose contaminants. Ingredients that may be contaminated with 1,4-Dioxane include polysorbates, polyoxyethylene, polyethylene, polyethelene glyocol any chemical with “PEG” in the name, and anything ending in – eth, such as sodium laureth sulfate. I was reading an article and I know since you have been following my BLOG that you may aware of this information. I also, want you to be aware of a term called endocrine disruptors. Parabens, in addition to being preservatives, are xenoestrogens or xenohormones, they disrupt your endocrine system. They disturb the hormone balance in your body. They are also skin sensitizers and have the potential to cause allergic reactions. They have been found in breast cancer tumors, according to the article it is not known if they cause breast cancer. It is my opinion that they do, by altering normal physiology. The most common parabens used in cosmetics and personal care products include butylparaben, ethylparaben and propylparaben. I know this may seem confusing; I attempted to make it easy. I would suggest you look for 1,4Dioxane and Paraben in your products. I am bringing this up because I had several new patients this week that had cancer, one had her breast removed. She has been on iodine as I suggested at a seminar for some time, and guess what her teeth are getting closer (as I advised they would – see prior blogs on iodine). After she read my book on female hormones she realized that her thyroid was low and may have been the cause of her cancer. These chemicals mentioned above create liver stress and play havoc on your thyroid. I will continue with more at another time. Watch for a SUPER SAVER Valentines announcement coming soon. I would suggest you watch my  video on FOOD ADDITIVES…. http://www.druglessdoctor.com/tabid/1023/Default.aspx  DB

Great Party Recipes!

DB here! What did you have at your Super Bowl Party? Why don’t you shake it up a bit, and try some real food!!

First Recipe: Now, if you have a grille, try some shish-ka-bobs, made with chicken breast, lamb or chicken sausage. Applegate™ has several products that are tasty and healthy. What I would do is this, here is your list of ingredients, green olives with pimentos, they will add some natural salt, cut up red, yellow or orange bell peppers, and they will add some color. Oh, by the way, I use bamboo skewers, the long ones. Large mushrooms, zucchini and the secret weapon, fresh pineapple. But Dr. Bob, you always say pears, plums and apples. Well, since you have been reading the BLOG, I wanted to tell you that when you put a chunk of REAL, not canned pineapple that is fresh, and the heat will dissipate some of the sweetness. It adds real flavor to the kabob. Also, get a large onion, this can be tricky, cut the onion in half and un-peal it layer by layer, so it looks like the skin of an orange. The onion will over lap the veggies. If you use Chicken try Frontier Poultry seasoning it is tasty. Of course you want to use Celtic Sea Salt®. What I also do is get some Braggs Ginger salad dressing. I would par cook the Kabobs for about twenty or thirty minutes at 320 to 350 F. This will get them ready for the grille. I would let them cook up on the grille; move them around so they do not get burned. Mushrooms can get toasty. I would then brush on the Braggs, do not put it on at the beginning. The flavor will permeate the meat and veggies….are you drooling?

Second Recipe: We have the kabobs, why don’t you make some Dr. Bob coleslaw. It is easy, get a red cabbage, (my favorite), cut it up with a sharp knife or food processor. Get some Safflower Mayo from Hain®, grate carrots, cut up a Gala apple, you could add some walnuts, or raisins for a switch. Mix it all together, add Celtic Sea Salt.

Third Recipe: Let’s try some Rice based macaroni salad. Go to your favorite health food store or conventional store healthy department. Get some Penne Rice pasta, follow the directions, when you are done cooking them, and leave them Aldante like my wife Debbie enjoys, put a table spoon or two of Safflower Mayo on the warm noodles. Rice pasta tends to get hard if you do not throw some fat on them. You can also use butter. Cut up a cucumber, onions, calamata olives, fresh dill or parsley, a hard boiled egg or two. You could put some cut up grilled chicken, for a little protein if you want. You could even add walnuts if you want. The olives add a bit of salt, the fresh herbs are awesome. Do you really want to stretch it a bit? Get some Goat Feta cheese, cube it, add it when you are done mixing everything. Don’t forget the Celtic Sea Salt®. You could add red, yellow or orange bell peppers for color. Radishes are great. The real secret is the FRESH herbs.

Fourth Recipe: What about Desert? Well, we have Nanas Cookies in our office; wheat, sugar and dairy free. You may be able to find them at your local market. Pamela’s has rice flour cookies with good oil and no sugar. If you are daring, go to the Healthy Living Link, scroll to recipes, click on deserts and use your imagination. No Plan is a plan to fail. Get out of the rut.

I would like to hear from anyone, tell me how it went. Go to www.druglessdoctor.com, and watch the other videos. You can make Brussel Sprouts, squash and even chicken soup. Try stir frying. Use lamb, with some brown rice. Fry you items with Rice oil, or coconut oil.

PS: Could you do me a HUGE FAVOR and link here and watch this short video as I explain Natural Chiropractic Healthcare. I really appreciate it……Thank you in advance……Pass this on to a friend. DB

Ear Infection? Just say “no” to dairy and chocolate!

DB here!! This week in the USA Today there was an article discussing children and Chiropractic Adjustments. The article was about a mom who also is a college professor. It appeared this must have been her first, anyway, the baby was not responding to accepted medical care, whatever that means. The baby could not lay without pain, there was also neck pain with movement and challenges breast feeding. With the approval of her pediatrician the mom took the baby to a Chiropractor, and guesses what? Within moments of the first treatment the baby started having improvement!! Surprised? I am not we see it all the time in the office.

I just treated a young boy today who I wrote about some time ago, the mom had given him candy coated chocolate (M & M’s), for potty training. This was the first chocolate, sugar and dairy exposure, within a week he had a DOUBLE FULL BLOWN ear infection!  I just saw the boy today; ears were clear and of course no more M & M’s. We adjusted him, plus recommended Ear Drops we have on our web page, the mom was ecstatic, here is the link, http://druglessdoctor.com/tabid/239/Default.aspx. The mom said the drops helped a lot. I would suggest if you have a child who has chronic challenges, and is not responding to care, take them to your family Chiropractor. If you do not have one, ask around. I had my MD mom in this week with her child. One last thought, go to my TV programs and watch the DVD’s on ADHD. The average child’s neck measurement is 10 degrees when the have ADHD, normal is 45 degrees. You can learn more in Chapter 16 of my ADHD book. This is serious stuff. I want to help you and your family. DB

Change? Yes you can!

DD here – in other words it is Debbie today!. DB has a hand injury and I will be filling in for a few days until his hand has more mobility – any prayers are appreciated – especially for strength, and healing virtue! Now, back to business. Yes, there is change in the air – and the only way to make a difference in your health is to make a commitment to CHANGE! One thing people always say to us is that it is so hard – but it is not, it is just different than the norm you have grown accustom to. The whole idea is making a new norm for yourself. Often people ask “what do you guys eat”. I think they think we do some unusual things that are unheard of. We both start the morning with a half of apple – I choose a bit of almond butter on mine to help me with some protein and also a bit of fat. I know that I need good oil – my body just lets me know – esp. during times close to my period starting – and yes, at 54 I still have a period – you know that the longer you have it – this is a good sign for cleansing health. Anyway, DB has carrots and sometime cucumbers with his apple and then a nut salad and other protein – like Applegate turkey to keep him thru the morning. We have a power salad for lunch – from mixed greens and spinach to tomatoes and cucs with cauliflower and broccoli – and cabbage – usually red, with whatever fresh herb we have around the house. I choose to put my flax seed oil on my salad and he uses a Braggs dressing. Dinner when there is just the two of us consists of a protein and veggies – brown rice or a whole wheat pasta is a treat. Bread isn’t even normally in our home! Maybe a brown rice tortilla, it is what you get used to – and what foods you know feed your body…. OK – more tomorrow. Have a wonderful night… DD

Foods that improve your appearance?!

DB here!! I am preparing for a program on “That’s Life” in Cleveland this week.  It will be on, Thursay morning, check it out Thursday afternoon at, www.MyFoxCleveland.com, link to “That’s Life”, it should be there for you to watch.  Anyway, when I was investigating the nuggets for my segment I discoverd these other tips for you.  I know you will find them fascinating.

 Oregano, thyme and parsley

10 Foods That May Improve Your Appearance // Parsley

“If you have puffy bags under your eyes in the morning, you are almost certainly consuming much more salt than you need,” says Doris Day, M.D., author of Forget the Facelift: Turn Back the Clock with a Revolutionary Program for Ageless Skin (Avery, 2005). “Another problem is alcohol: It dehydrates you and can make your skin sag. The worst combination is alcohol and salt, which causes puffy dark circles under your eyes.” Dr. Day recommends reducing your sodium intake to eliminate bloating. Instead of salt, season your meals with herbs and spices such as oregano, thyme, rosemary, parsley and garlic.

Deb and I have parsley on our mixed green salad every day. Here is a nugget, wrap you parsley with paper towel after it has been dried on your counter. Do not put it in your refrigerator damp.  The paper towel will absorb the remaining moisture, and it will stay for three weeks or so. You can put the parsley in warm water with lemon.  Also, do you know that oregano and parsley are pernnials, and you can actually pick them year round?   Bake a garlic by cutting off the top with a sharp knife, get a crock garlic baking dish with a cover.  Cover the garlic and put a bit of water on the bottom, bake at 350F until you smell the fragrance.  Squeeze the garlic cloves and add to your spelt bread or other sauteed foods.  Also, I do suggest Celtic Sea Salt in place of conventional table salt. It is very healthy. DB
