DB here! When I navigate around the internet I am exposed to a lot of subliminal and direct marketing and advertisement pop up for over the counter and prescription medications. It is almost overwhelming how symptomatic people are today.

 

Did you catch that, symptomatic!!

 

How do you treat your symptoms? I would be afraid to take a product that stops my nose from running do you want to know why? Your nose is releasing something from your body. I want you to stop and think about that……go ahead….think about what I just said. Why is your nose running…what is your body trying to tell you?

 

Do you know that even taking “natural products” at times is no different than taking a DRUG!!! WOW. That was big….You may think, well Dr. Bob, why do you have products on your site? I have products on my site, that are there to assist you as you go through your transition FROM……………

Ok, what does that mean? I manage and create personal health strategies for patients with a variety of challenges. One of the more common ones includes chronic Sinusitis issues. It takes time and perseverance.

 

Do you know what one of the primary causes of sinusitis is; Dairy products (including ice cream, even organic and homemade) and Peanut butter? Yep, you read it right — that also means yogurt by the way. I encourage my patients to drink more water and eat carrots. Carrots are a great source of Vitamin A precursors. A is good for the skin linings of your body. Now, in our practice we work on Detoxifying that is why you may want to get the Dr. Bob’s Guide to Detoxification book, and also why you may want to do a Health Survey. Toxins can cause your sinuses to drain because the other detox organs are being over worked….because you are passionately addicted to dairy and peanut butter etc.

I treat a lot of patients with chronic sinus challenges by correcting the upper cervical vertebra that are mis-aligned at C2 or the second vertebra on the left. I believe it is left because of all the dairy and sugar they eat. I have had people get off my spinal adjusting table and say that was faster that Sudafed or Benadryl.

 

Over the counter products COVER UP SYMPTOMS. That is it. They do have bad effects – those sprays can irritate your nasal passage that you end up with polyps – then surgery. Do not be fooled – all of the symptom treatment accelerates the break down of tissue so you may end up requiring surgery. Do you think your surgeon will suggest that their may be a real cause to your sinus problem…It is not all genetic by the way.

I am always taken back when I visit places and there are seniors around who have not taken care of themselves the first sixty-five years of their lives.  Commonly they walk slow and stiff.  I had conversation with many of them today; do you know what the #1 item they ask me about is?  How do I get off my cholesterol lowering drugs?  When I give them the “cholesterol is not good or bad story” including the rendition of a fire truck taking the cholesterol to the fire as I explain in detail in my Trans Fat book, they look at me with a smile of HOPE on their faces. 

 

I cordially instruct them how to eat and make Dr. Bob’s ABC’s – which by the way, check out the awesome New Link we just added to our web site!  The two, most positive nuggets you can tell everyone is that Apples have the potential to lower your cholesterol 13% and Beets 40%. That is huge!  Statin drugs have very bad effects.  Do not be fooled by the pharmaceutical companies.  I was talking to one gentleman today that had huge brown and red discoloration on his lower legs and varicose veins.  He takes statins and, of course, a baby aspirin daily.  He gave me the “only in moderation excuse” as he was wiping away the powder sugar from the donut he just ate.  I did tell him that I called them “torpedoes of death”.  Needless to say, most only listen when it is near death.

Change? Yes you can!

DD here – in other words it is Debbie today!. DB has a hand injury and I will be filling in for a few days until his hand has more mobility – any prayers are appreciated – especially for strength, and healing virtue! Now, back to business. Yes, there is change in the air – and the only way to make a difference in your health is to make a commitment to CHANGE! One thing people always say to us is that it is so hard – but it is not, it is just different than the norm you have grown accustom to. The whole idea is making a new norm for yourself. Often people ask “what do you guys eat”. I think they think we do some unusual things that are unheard of. We both start the morning with a half of apple – I choose a bit of almond butter on mine to help me with some protein and also a bit of fat. I know that I need good oil – my body just lets me know – esp. during times close to my period starting – and yes, at 54 I still have a period – you know that the longer you have it – this is a good sign for cleansing health. Anyway, DB has carrots and sometime cucumbers with his apple and then a nut salad and other protein – like Applegate turkey to keep him thru the morning. We have a power salad for lunch – from mixed greens and spinach to tomatoes and cucs with cauliflower and broccoli – and cabbage – usually red, with whatever fresh herb we have around the house. I choose to put my flax seed oil on my salad and he uses a Braggs dressing. Dinner when there is just the two of us consists of a protein and veggies – brown rice or a whole wheat pasta is a treat. Bread isn’t even normally in our home! Maybe a brown rice tortilla, it is what you get used to – and what foods you know feed your body…. OK – more tomorrow. Have a wonderful night… DD

Slow the Aging Process, Fast! – Part 2

DB here!! OK, you read the earlier nugget and started drinking more water; right? I would not drink distilled water myself. It tends to deplete the body of critically needed minerals. You need minerals to assist the flax oil in making prostaglandin number three which takes away inflammation. I suggest you use Celtic Sea Salt® liberally (replace your conventional table salt). Vitamin C is very important for the creation of collagen. As you know or know now collagen is important for skin health.

I have found a source of vitamin C that will not cause cold sores or fibromyalgia: Are you ready for this? Red, yellow and orange bell peppers. Eat at least one half of one a red, yellow or orange bell pepper each day. Cut one up and put it in a sealed container along with your half of an apple, and four or five baby carrots. Do you want to know a little known nugget? Of course you do!  If you get indigestion with green bell peppers it may be that your gall bladder/liver mechanics are off. If this is the case you should be eating a half of an apple every day, or get some milk thistle or dandelion root from our web site (www.druglessdoctor.com). Those two items help the liver gall bladder flow. Now, this is really important: your skin needs collagen. Slow the Aging Process, Fast!

Everyone I talk to these days wants to look and stay younger looking. Do you know that you can slow the aging process down? There are a lot of mis-conceptions on why your skin starts to sag, wrinkle and look drawn and pasty looking. Beauty begins within. Let me share some time tested secrets to look and feel younger. First and the easiest is to hydrate your body. Your cells including your skin are in a constant state of repair. Dead cells to need be eliminated from the scene. Water assists the body in the transportation of cells to be removed. Water is water, not soda, tea, coffee or alcohol. Add a wedge of lemon to your water, drink the water and eat the lemon. Many patients that come into the office have never heard of or realize that flax oil is critical for health. I strongly encourage one tablespoon of quality high lignan flax oil a day per one hundred pounds of body weight. Flax oil reduces inflammation. Flax oil also is a precursor for building blocks for the thyroid and adrenal gland hormones. Dry skin is best eliminated by adding calcium lactate to your daily supplementation program. We use Calcium Lactate from Standard Process, it is easily assimilated. Flax oil transports calcium to skin, lack of flax oil can create thick looking skin. Carrots are a great source of vitamin A precursors. I would eat four or five every day. I also would eat at least one-fourth of an avocado every day. Look Younger! Do this!

I know that many of you right now are concerned about how you are going to react your aging profile. Let me give you a few tips that I have noticed to help my patients. I would, and I am being serious about this, EAT your apples, beets and carrots. I won’t talk about apples and beets today. I want to discuss carrots. Carrots, are loaded with minerals and vitamins, there are more than 200 nutrients in carrots. I would eat them raw, steamed or sauteed. I eat them every day. Carrots are loaded with Vitamin A, it is critical for skin health. OK, here is another nugget is water. Water will hydrate the skin. Skin takes a beating in the winter time up here in the North. When the air is dry like some of you have in Arizona, drink more water. I would use Celtic Sea Salt liberally, is it a great source of minerals. You want to eliminate inflammation. Wait till you read this — protein and sugar create wrinkles on your skin. There is a surgeon in Cleveland will not do facials on women who eat yogurt. I would not eat ice cream if you want your face to be smooth. You could put an avocado mask on your face. Here is a secret weapon for you, smash one fourth of an avocado and break open an Alpha Lipoic Acid capsule and mix them together. Apply the mixture to your face for a half hour or so, your skin will love it. Eggs, onion and garlic are a great source of sulfur, which is important for skin health. Iodine is a secret weapon.
