Depressed? Check your vitamin D.

DB here! I have been observing many young ladies who have had their second child with an issue of depression. I can tell you a common problem is a low thyroid. I had one young woman today who is thirty. She just had her second baby. Her body has not responded to the change. Her TSH, T3 and T4 levels were very low; she is exhausted. I looked over her diet; she had wheat nearly with every meal. Wheat depletes the body by zinc. When you have low zinc, there is usually high copper. High copper interrupts with the conversion of T4 to T3. What she had that was really severe was low vitamin D. Her vitamin D was 19, low is 30. She was depressed, not always but much of the time. I have been seeing more with depression and heart issues. I can tell you that if you are depressed, I would have your thyroid and Vitamin D tested.  Eat egg yolks with your eggs. Vitamin D is in the yolk. I would also take flax oil, one tablespoon per one hundred pounds of weight. I also recommended a product from our office called Tyrosine. When T4 and T3 are low, the patient nearly always requires iodine and tyrosine. My best to you!! DB
