Foods that improve your appearance?!

DB here!! I am preparing for a program on “That’s Life” in Cleveland this week.  It will be on, Thursay morning, check it out Thursday afternoon at, www.MyFoxCleveland.com, link to “That’s Life”, it should be there for you to watch.  Anyway, when I was investigating the nuggets for my segment I discoverd these other tips for you.  I know you will find them fascinating.

 Oregano, thyme and parsley

10 Foods That May Improve Your Appearance // Parsley

“If you have puffy bags under your eyes in the morning, you are almost certainly consuming much more salt than you need,” says Doris Day, M.D., author of Forget the Facelift: Turn Back the Clock with a Revolutionary Program for Ageless Skin (Avery, 2005). “Another problem is alcohol: It dehydrates you and can make your skin sag. The worst combination is alcohol and salt, which causes puffy dark circles under your eyes.” Dr. Day recommends reducing your sodium intake to eliminate bloating. Instead of salt, season your meals with herbs and spices such as oregano, thyme, rosemary, parsley and garlic.

Deb and I have parsley on our mixed green salad every day. Here is a nugget, wrap you parsley with paper towel after it has been dried on your counter. Do not put it in your refrigerator damp.  The paper towel will absorb the remaining moisture, and it will stay for three weeks or so. You can put the parsley in warm water with lemon.  Also, do you know that oregano and parsley are pernnials, and you can actually pick them year round?   Bake a garlic by cutting off the top with a sharp knife, get a crock garlic baking dish with a cover.  Cover the garlic and put a bit of water on the bottom, bake at 350F until you smell the fragrance.  Squeeze the garlic cloves and add to your spelt bread or other sauteed foods.  Also, I do suggest Celtic Sea Salt in place of conventional table salt. It is very healthy. DB
